Day 1D1 : Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Arrival at the Chinggis Khaan international airport in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Our guide-interpreter and driver will welcome you at the airport and lead you to the city journey. The city has plenty to offer. The guests visit the Gandan Monastery, a historical and spiritual place in the city. Then you will visit the National History Museum and the Genghis Khan Square in front of the Mongolian Parliament to introduce the general knowledge and information about the Mongolian history and culture. Day 2-3D2 and 3: Ulaanbaatar – Khogno Khan

Directly move to the Khogno Khan called Central Gobi, one of the 33 Gobi in Mongolia. Visit a nomadic family, installed in the middle of the pastures. Tasting « White food » and notably airag, the traditional drink made from fermented mare’s milk. Mongolians transform the milk of their livestocks (sheep, goats, cows, yaks, camels and mares) in many derivatives products that preserved well and assure their subsistance during the long and rigorous winter. The white food occupies a very important place in the alimentation of mongolians on both symbolic and ritual level. Visiting one of ancient Buddhist monasteries in the mountain. Erdene khamba monastery located in the sacred Mountain Khugnu Khan. Today there are the ruins and 3 small temples. Erdene khamba monastery had two sections: the lower one called the Zaluu khiid and the upper one called the Uvgun khiid. The Erdene khamba monastery was destroyed during middle age feuds between western and eastern Mongolians after the collapse of the Mongol Empire. Full day of camel riding along the sand dunes. Day 4-7D4, 5,6 and 7 : Khogno Khan – Karakorum

Four days of walking in the plains and steppes to Karakorum through the Khögnö Khan, passing the Nart and Bukht mountains, the village of Khashaat and up the Orkhon over the last two days. D1 – We leave (30 km) by 4×4 towards Nomgon bag, territory of small administrative unit of Arkhangai province, starting point of 4 days of trekking to village Khashaat. D2 – We walk towards Khoshoo Tsaidam, passing the former wheat field used for the people of the village (25 km / 7h, on foot, assistance vehicle) D3 – We start the day with a tour of the Turkish history museum, dedicated for Bileg Khan memorial in Khoshoo Tsaidam. This day is intended to make the trekking towards Mont Lun. D4 – This is the last day of our trekking. Crossing the Old Orkhon River, we continue to walk to Karakorum.

Day 8D8 : Karakorum – Orkhon Valley

Continue to cultural highlight place of Mongolia – Kharakorum was the capital of the Mongol Empire at the time of Chinggis Khaan (1162-1227). Now it is a small town in the middle of the grasslands. There are some scanty remains of the city scattered to see. Most stones of the old buildings were later used to build the nearby Erdene Zuu Monastery. Erdene Zuu means’ hundred treasures. The building dates from 1586 and is subject to the political winds many ups and downs known. Once the complex consisted of more than a hundred temples. Part of the monastery is since 1990 active again and pressure restored. It is one of the cultural highlights in Mongolia. The complex is fully fenced and every fifteen meters there are stupas, 108 in total, into the wall. With the brand new telescope MEADE ACF 200 of 14 inches and guided by GPS, you can observe the stars, planets and galaxies from the steppes of the Orkhon Valley.. Day 9-10D9 and 10: Horse Riding in the Orkhon Valley

You’ll start horse riding in Orkhon valley, inscribed by UNESCO in the World Heritage List as representing evolution of nomadic pastoral traditions spanning more than two millennia. On the way, you’ll enjoy the unique formation of nature such as small waterfall, Uurtyn tokhoi canyon, Temeen chuluutyn am site, etc, The Orkhon valley is one of the few sites in Mongolia which is classified World Heritage of Humanity. And the beauty of its natural site consists not only of green plains and hills bursting with basalt lines extending on both sides Orkhon River, but also steles a cervidae, hirgesuur (tombs in cairn), tombs with slabs, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic statues, ruins of ancient capitals … The waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcano eruptions and earthquakes. Day 12D12: Hot Spring Tsenkher – Ogii Lake

The lake Ugii Nuur is a wonderful place for birdlife – cranes and ducks, to name just a few species, migrate to the area around late April. Ugii lake (Ogii lake) is also renowned for its fishing. Ugii lake is a lake, 1, 387 meters above sea level in Ugii Nuur Sium in Arkhangai Aimag. It covers 25 square kilometers, and is rich in Perch and Pike. The catch possible from the lake of Ugii Nuur is 50 tons a year. Swan Goose, White Spoonbill and Dalmatian Pelican have been recorded. FB, overnight in ger camp « Khatan Oguii »

Day 13D13: Ogii Lake – Khustain Nuruu

We are heading to the natural reserve of Khustain National Park, known for its famous Przewalski horses, called takhi in Mongolian, small “prehistoric” horses, they have paintings that go back more than 15 000 years and can be found in the Lascaux caves! These horses disappeared naturally in the 1960s, and were reintroduced to Mongolia through zoos from different countries. Since the arrival of the twenty horses in 1992, the population has increased to almost 300! Our host family settles at the heart of this protected area during the summer time. We will stay there with them for two day FB, overnight in ger camp « Khustai »

Day 14D14: Khustain Nuruu – Ulaanbaatar

We’ll have breakfast in the café after arrival in UB and take you to the hotel. After taking a rest and in your hotel, we’ll go for shopping to the State department store, the largest shopping mall in Mongolia, a leftover of the Soviet occupation. You can find cashmere and leather, whatever you want to give for souvenir, present and gift. Folklore show Concert of traditional music and contortionists. Presentation of the Traditional Mongolian instrument Morin Khuur, old two-string adorned with a carved horse’s head. Overtone singing performance previously only used by shamans to enter into communication with the spirits. FB, tourist hotel « White House »

Day 15D15 : Departure from Ulaanbaatar

After having a breakfast in the hotel, we’ll drive you to the Chinggis Khaan international airport 2 hours before your departure. END OF SERVICE
