In the steppes
You can choose to spend the night in the yurt of a family in his company. You will experience authentic moments with your guests and understand the meaning we give to the word “welcome” in Mongolia.
However, to allow you to live a genuine nomadic night, without however upsetting the daily life of your guests, we prefer families with a yurt of host.
In yurts of hosts
You are welcomed by a family of breeders and share their privacy, but you are housed in your own “yurt of host” in the camp. You will enjoy the life, the know-how and the unforgettable hospitality of the Mongolian nomads, but keep the certainty of never disturbing them!
Throughout these years, we have become accustomed to working mainly with 8 to 9 families living in different parts of the country, for the quality of their welcome and above all their willingness to discover their way of life and share it with the ” foreign.
In a traditional tourist camp
Distributed throughout the territory and generally around the local points of interest, the “camps of yurts” developed tourist offer accommodation with the standard comfort. They have the advantage of offering a restoration and sanitary facilities (showers and toilets) that you will be delighted to find in the middle of the steppes! Our tours often include at least one night every 4 days in this type of camp to allow you a little more comfort and privacy during your stay.
Some yurt camps offer much more luxurious comfort, enhanced with high quality services in the middle of the steppes. Often much rarer than accommodation in traditional yurt camps, they are also much more expensive.
DMD is one of the few companies that has the advantage of controlling prices and is able to offer you a few “charming” nights in many of our tours!
Bivouac in tent
If you want to explore Mongolia by being close to nature and with a tighter budget, the bivouac nights in the steppe are for you. We provide you with a Wanderer 3-seater tent for 2 people and a mess tent for meals for groups of more than 10 people.
We also lend thick felt felt mattresses made by local craftsmen who are very insulating because it is the same natural material from the wool of animals that covers the yurts and isolates them from the cold during the harsh winter.
Local hotels (in the region) are very frequented by Mongols and often noisy, located next to nightclubs or cafes.

In Ulan Bator
In Ulaanbaatar there is a wide range of hotels, from the starless to the luxurious. Cheap hotels are very frequented by Mongols and often noisy, placed next to nightclubs or cafes.
In a hotel of tourism category
The hotels of tourism are numerous in Ulaanbaatar and offer a standard comfort. We often work with hotels like “Kharaa” or “Zaluuchuud”. These are the hotels that you will find in most of our “ready-to-travel” tours because they offer good value for money.
In a superior hotel
There are also “superior” hotels, often offering additional services such as fitness room, wifi, safe, and offer a much higher quality of comfort and design. We usually offer rooms in hotels such as “Bayangol”, “Chinggis” or “Ramada”.
In a luxury hotel
Luxury hotels are still very few in the Mongolian capital, the only five stars in the city center being the “Ulaanbaatar” and the “Blue Sky hotel”. However, major international hotel chains are about to open in the capital and will soon be available.
There are also many guesthouses, or youth hostels, which offer housing and sanitary facilities, often collective or sometimes individual, for modest sums. These accommodations are often preferred by young people and “backpackers” because they have the advantage of saving money and meeting with other travelers!
We also work with a few families of trust for several years to offer you a homestay in the capital, to be closer to the life of the Mongolian city dwellers! Your family has at your disposal one or more rooms and you can also choose to have dinner with your hosts.
